Blog DTM – episode 5: Norisring

Dear Motorsport-Fans,

Finally the 4 week summer break is over. And we are back!

This is me in the paddle boat for a moderation with my team

We witnessed an amazing race weekend at the Norisring in Germany. On Saturday we had burning 35 degrees and on Sunday we had heavy rain and a lot cooler temperatures. My dear Watson, could the 2 days have been any more challenging for the DTM drivers?

The Qualifying was tough and exciting.

Filipe Albuquerque then Martin Tomczik and me after the qualifying tries

But nothing compared to the race. What should have been Gary Paffet’s race ended in chaos in the first corner, costing Gary his victory. Till almost the end of the race it looked as if it would be a BMW double victory – but in the last 2 minutes, Jamie Green did some magic and won the race. What a surprise. It really was racing at its best.

For Timo Scheider it went terrible wrong – for some reason, he has been haunted by bad luck. That must be extremely frustrating for a two time champion!

Of course Sunday not only the DTM was a hot topic- but also soccer: it was the big final game on Sunday, Italy vs Spain. For we did some tangle soccer with Edoardo Mortara and the two Spanisch drivers Miguel Molina and Roberto Mehri. You can enjoy it on

And as of last weekend, the qualifying and the race are live on and also after the race I am doing a 30minute race anlysis with Manuel Reuter – so do watch out for that and enjoy.

So, I am looking forward to the show event in Munich!

Take care,
