Mercedes ahead, Ferrari is close!


Mercedes doesn’t leave the top of the classification. Sebastian Vettel is the best outsider of the line-up. Lewis Hamilton plays « Spinzilla » aka Pastor Maldonado. Let’s review what happened during this last free practice of the Spanish weekend…

Helped by the positive waves sent by the Fairy Vivian (she’s in the paddock from BCN), Nico Rosberg has found back the leadership like in FP1 (1’26’’021). Sebastian Vettel, second (+0’’156s), kept the evolutions brought by Ferrari while his team-mate Kimi Räikkönen (5th ; +0’’923s) tested again the old version. Lewis Hamilton, third (+0’’201s), spun at the turn 3 at 11:31am. Valtteri Bottas has been a good fourth. Daniel Ricciardo has been in the top 6 (+1’’027s). His family has been in the Red Bull hospitality this weekend (his parents, his sister and his girlfriend Jemma Boskovich: Felipe Massa has occupied the seventh row. Daniil Kvyat, ninth, has been inserted between the youngster from Faenza (advantage for Max Verstappen). Obviously, their fathers (Jos Verstappen and Carlos Sainz) are in the STR garage. Jenson Button has been eleventh. Nico Hülkenberg, twelfth, is still very motivated even if the car is disappointing. Felipe Nasr, thirteenth, signed the first benchmark of the session at 11:07am (1’31’’478). Fernando Alonso, fourteenth, has outstripped both Lotus (advantage for Romain Grosjean). Yesterday, the team from Enstone promoted the movie « Mad Max » with a very special livery. ; ; Marcus Ericsson has been seventeenth. Sergio Perez has been stuck to the eighteenth place since yesterday. Both Manor have been the good last ones (same positions as Friday).
