After an awful Russian GP, Lewis Hamilton has set the HAMmertime mode. That means two P1 in FP and a pole position (3rd pole of the season and 3rd pole here). There is the summary:

Weather report: sunny, T. air: 26-27°C ; T. track: 43-46°C ; humidity rate: 22-28% and wind speed: 1,5 m.s (north)

Tyres used in qualifying=hard and soft (Q1=hard and soft for FI, soft for the others, Q2=soft for the top 15, Q3=soft for the top 10)

Lewis Hamilton has signed the best time in the three parts of the qualifying tries (Q1=1’20”511, Q2=1’20”210 and Q3=1’19”149). https://twitter.com/F1/status/863409680344784897 He’ll aim the hat-trick on Sunday (pole, win and fastest lap on race). Sebastian Vettel was very close to a second pole this season (P2 ; +0”051s) but he made a mistake in the last chicane in his last Q3 run. Valtteri Bottas has completed the trio ahead (+0”224s). http://www.fia.com/news/f1-lhamilton-it-was-really-intense-us-making-sure-we-pulled-out-every-millisecond-we-can Kimi Räikkönen has been classified fourth (+0”290s). Max Verstappen has been a fantastic fifth (+0”557s). https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/interviews/2017/5/f1-spain-max-verstappen-best-qualifying-of-2017.html Daniel Ricciardo has been a shy sixth (+1”026s). Extraordinary performance from Fernando Alonso who has reached the seventh position. Felipe Massa, ninth, has been inserted between both Force India (advantage for Sergio Perez). On tomorrow, the top 10 will start on soft tyres (the set used in Q2). Kevin Magnussen will have to be satisfied with the eleventh row. Carlos Sainz Jr wasn’t able to do better than twelfth with his car. Nico Hülkenberg, thirteenth, was disappointed not to reach the Q3 after such a promising result in FP. Romain Grosjean has occupied the fourteenth place. Pascal Wehrlein has been a good fifteenth. Marcus Ericsson, sixteenth, has outstripped Jolyon Palmer, Lance Stroll and Stoffel Vandoorne (P+10 on the starting grid=McLaren changed some parts of his PU [new enery store and new control electronics]). Daniil Kvyat has been the good last one. https://www.formula1.com/en/latest/features/2017/5/what-the-teams-said—qualifying-in-spain.html Let’s note that Pirelli bets on a two or three pit-stops strategy for tomorrow. https://twitter.com/pirellisport/status/863425226364911616https://twitter.com/pirellisport/status/863425233679777798
